I was introduced to Dan Louche when he started building his first tiny house, a house for his mom. Since then Dan has been very busy building homes, designing house plans, filming how-to videos, and writing a construction guide. His tiny house business is now one of the most evolved and offers some of the best learning materials for owner-builders.
Note: Dan is currently running a 20% OFF sale on all the things in his store (plans, book, ebook, videos). Use coupon code 10off when checking out on his website. Visit the Tiny House Builders website now. Offer ends July 31, 2013.
Here are some of the items he offers:
- Tiny House Design & Construction Guide – Dan has written a book based on his personal learnings from building tiny houses. It has the details you’ll need to build a house including trailer connections, framing, roofing, plumbing, and electrical.
- Tiny Home Builders Video Library – While building one of his houses Dan documented the entire process on video. You can access the entire tiny house video series online when you buy a $49.00 annual subscription. If you can find the time or money for a tiny house workshop, Dan’s videos are the next best thing to an in-person experience. (Dan also does workshops from time to time too!)
- Tiny House Plans – Dan currently has three tiny house designs available. Two are 20-foot tiny houses (160 square feet) and the other is just 12-feet long (96 square feet). All his houses have shed dormers on the sides which increase the usable height and look great. He includes a lot of details in his plans making it much easier to build.
- Tiny House Trailers – When you use a stock flatbed trailer you’ll usually need to make some modifications before you start building. To avoid this Dan has his trailers custom built to his specifications and they include features that make a tiny house on a trailer more solid. Dan now makes these custom trailers available on his website.
- Tiny House 2014 Calendar – Dan has even put together a tiny house calendar for 2014. Reserve your copy now.

Questions really: How far can these tiny houses travel? Like cross country? What about water collection/tank? Why can’t the solar panels be on the roof?
This may be a very viable option for me; I am very interested. I live in SC right now- I could come and see possibly. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Roberta
There really is no limit to how far they can be towed. People have towed them up to Alaska and across the USA. Some folks add rainwater collection. The tank filled would add weight and would likely need to be emptied before moving… but most folks don’t move often. Solar can be on a roof… if just makes it harder to keep the panels clean and directly aimed at the sun.
Hello dear All, I would like to ask how it work for the German market.
Do you have a distributor here ???
