While most folks are attracted to the cottage style of most tiny homes, the heavy weight of their construction makes them tougher for travel. If travel is what you’re hoping to do, consider what these folks did… build your home more like travel trailers are built.
They’ve documented the construction process o their blog, materials choices, and building methods. I especially like how they made their own SIPs (structural insulated panels) for the walls. The final product is lightweight like a travel trailer but has a completely custom interior built to their needs.
It has a kitchen, bath, ample seating and flexible sleeping space. The smaller size, weight, and aerodynamic shape all add up to a home that’s much more easily transported.
So if you’re looking for a way to have your cake and eat it too (custom tiny home that tows great), consider building your home more like a trailer. Photos by Tiny Home Teardrop Trailer.
