What makes this park unique?

Even though this park is located at a winery (with the vibe of Harvest Hosts), this is a great place for the whole family. The owners go out of their way to create a memorable stay for their visitors and have a great attention to detail that makes all the difference. This park even offers ways for teens to connect (which is am often overlooked age group when RVing). The park offers weekly themed activities, as well.

2. Cedar Bliss Adult RV Park

As an un-advertised park surrounded by woods, this park still has all the amenities that allow for a longer stay at a fraction of the cost of other parks in the area.

What makes this park unique?

This park does not have online presence, so its existence and subsequent reviews are based on one’s visit only and referral via RV sites. It seems to be a quiet and remote park in the wild.

This park is about 1 mile from Main Street that has all the shops, restaurants, and the museum. The park is about 30 minutes away from Enchanted Rock and the Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park to the East and Old Tunnel State Park to the South.

More suited for full-timing couples, this park is standardized RV park with all amenities and a fee structure that encourages long-term stay. The park is well maintained and landscaped.

What makes this park unique?

This park is surrounded by quaint German architecture, wineries, and vineyards as scenery so that you might think you are in Germany! The park has all the amenities that make the stay enjoyable. The park’s most unique feature is that they offer a covered wagon glamping experience! The park’s layout and activities make it a great retreat or rally venue (with a rally meeting hall).

5. Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park

This park is located about 3 miles South of downtown Fredericksburg. It is green, clean, and well-kept. Long-term stays are not allowed. Adjacent is a 5-acre dog park.

What makes this park unique?

This park has a campground, amenities, and a golf course. The sites are all grassy and there are mature trees that provide shade on sunny days. This is an Americana-vibe park that feels like one steps back in time and enjoys recollecting summer childhood memories of a much easier time.

6. Oakwood RV Resort

This park offers potlucks and game nights and is just around the corner to the municipal golf course. It’s a cozy RV park for mature couples or individuals, but also a great place for vacationing families.

Surrounded by oak trees, this 15-acre park is a quiet getaway close to the historic downtown Fredericksburg. There are plenty of things for visitors to do, including a putting green, a shuffleboard or relaxing in a therapeutic jacuzzi. The park is also a great venue for rallies and big group events.

This is a no-frills RV park that is located close to town and is a good fit for anyone who is looking for an affordable place to park their RV with full hookups but doesn’t care as much about the extra amenities (that one sometimes pays for but doesn’t need or use).

This park has a lot of family history and was until recently known as Fredericksburg KOA. It has exploded in business under the KOA franchise and the owners decided to go on their own and are keeping busy.

What makes this park unique?

As an exclusively 21-years and older park, this park is catering to adults to enjoy “children-free zone” and adult activities, such as wine-tasting/drinking, museums, shopping etc. Under the KOA franchise, the owners were unable to decline families with children, but they believe there is much demand for a park without children and as private owners, they have decided to open the adult-only park.

According to the ranch owners, the directions to the ranch are as follows: “Coming from Fredericksburg, we are approximately 24 miles on the right. An important marker is the Enchanted Rock turnoff. We are approximately 8 miles from that turnoff on the right. Enchanted Rock is about 15 miles from us, all highway travel, so about a 15-minute drive.” (Source: Venue 2020 (texasavidoutdoors.com))

Part of a working cattle ranch, 160 acres have been set aside for the RV park. This is a rugged country getaway park (not a resort!) to experience the Texas ranch lifestyle. A Texas family decided to share their land with visitors, and they expect people to be courteous and kind rather than critical and demanding.

TIPS TO GET TO FREDERICKSBURG

Coming from the Waco/Fort Hood/Killeen, TX area, one can travel the I-35 South to Austin and then continue West on TX-290 toward Fredericksburg, TX. Many roads connect to Fredericksburg, although there are mostly small towns within a 20-mile radius (some being suburbs of Austin, TX). When traveling from San Antonio, TX, one can take the I-10 North and TX-87 to Fredericksburg as the easiest route for RVs.
