8×12 Tiny House – Free Plans

This set of free tiny house plans is a classic 8′ x 12′ house with a 12/12 pitched roof. The plans are 20 pages and are drawn to the same level of detail as my other tiny house plans.

The walls are framed with 2x4s and the floor and roof are framed with 2x6s. It’s shown with a shingled exterior but you could finish it off however you like. Your choice of foundations could be used too, including a trailer; although the width may slightly exceed 8 1/2 feet and some minor changes would need to be made to accomodate the wheels.

If you’ve just seen tiny houses on HGTV Design Star, this design is similar in size but a bit simpler to build than those homes as it lacks the Craftsman Style adornments you saw there. Learn more about the Tumbleweed tiny houses you saw on HGTV.

I have bought some of this man’s plans and they are WELL WORTH the money, especially if you are a learn-as-you-go DIY-er who is building bit by bit upon your skill set. They are clear, easily understood, and easily executed!

Thank you so much for the free plans. We all know that you do not have to offer these and I can say that it is much appreciated. I also enjoy using Sketchup to design. Do you have the 8×12 available in the warehouse? Thanks again for everything!

    Hello Micheal,
I am interested in building a version of this house.
    How thick are the walls?
Could this easily be modified to 7×12 on a trailer?

I have built a Prayer Chapel using your Tiny House plans. Fully finished out with power and music. I have pics from start to finish. This is built on a cement slab, 16″ centers for framing and put together with screws instead of nails. Outside lighting is automatic, 2 on entry and 4 landscape and one on roof where cross was added. Inside lighting is on 24/7 with 4 scounces and one hanging. 2 electrical outlets with A/C-heat pump. Wood Flooring, fully insulated. Sound system and breaker panel are mounted outside on back of building. Thank you for the plans and if you would like a set of start to finish pics please let me know and I will email to you.

Planning on using a basic one, have no idea now much this will cost to build, simple and cheap. I am planning on building homes for homeless people. My main focus first, is to get the disabled people off of the streets. I am am currently focused on this disabled guy whom I have met who is a good guy, some people that I have met has went to school with him. He has a lot of problems which makes it where he would be unable to hold a job, he has bad luck in his life and ended up homeless. I am wanting to help him among others who are disabled and have become homeless. I am disabled myself as is my daughter and I can see this could happen to us.. so, I am trying to get an idea of how much it could run to build something like this.. I am going to try to fundraise for the cost of materials. I am thinking solar panels and some sort of air/heating. I really feel as if it is my calling to help these people. Thank you and have an awesome day.l! πŸ™‚
